If you had asked me this question when I was a teenager or young adult, I would have responded in a round-about way. I might have said, "What difference does it make?" I had never given much consideration to such ideas. I did not come from a family that pondered "the meaning of life". When we discussed anything, we spoke about our day, our problems, or the latest drama in the neighborhood.

Most individuals are wary of revealing themselves. They look for the 'catch' in a question such as "What's my purpose here?" Most folks are protective of their person/ego, not wishing to let others "see" who they really are, "see" what makes them tick. Often the person asked has no clue as to how to answer this question. When taken seriously, most replies are ego-based. Most people avoid responding to and taking responsibility for their purpose. Women might point out their desire to raise a family. Men might identify their work as their purpose. Their unacknowledged purpose might be an addiction -- drinking, sex, exercise, food, work, power, drugs, making money. All these folks are busy "filling the fucking time". Anything qualifies as long as they don't have to become quiet and inquire within. Their lives are lived in fear. Fear of never being enough. Fear that someone will find out they are not enough. Their egos rule their lives with judgment, criticism, control, manipulation, protection, and defense. Ego gratification is voracious, needing to be fed constantly. Ego is never satisfied. The ego always wants "more".

When Soul is present, the 'more' is called taking responsibility. Taking responsibility for everything we create, and we create everything. The energy behind all our creations is Soul inspired. Soul, as Divine Love, is always whispering in our Hearts, "Create from Love." Love is who we are, why we are, and what we are.

My purpose is to Love myself fully, completely, exactly as I am - warts and all. Ego constantly shows up to give me the next opportunity to change and move more fully into Soul. Soul shows me places where denial has shut me down by giving me another form of the old drama. Soul emphasizes lessons I once learned, but let slide. Soul keeps plugging away at our unfinished mommy/daddy business. Soul asks, "Are you ready to look at this again"?

My life expresses my purpose, Love. When I Love, that Love radiates out from me. I am present for another, seeing them as my mirror, seeing them as Love. Everything, everyone, shows me this Love. We have always been this Love. When I am Conscious of my purpose, life flows smoothly. Soul inspires me to maintain my alignment in Love. The old saying, "Love makes the world go 'round" is true for me.

My Love is the most powerful thing on the planet. So is yours.
