I'm back! I know that all of you culinary cuties wait anxiously each month for my next recipe. I never want to disappoint my faithful, flavorful followers. Let us begin this month with a question: Would the ocean be much deeper if we removed all of the sponges??? Of course, I have ALL the answers. What I will offer up to y'all instead is my fabulous recipe for Sponge Cake.
You will need the following ingredients:

4 sticks compassion, softened 1 lb. patience 5 liters forgiveness 2 pints spontaneity/enthusiasm, blended 3-16 oz. jars serenity, creamy style 8 Tbsp. joy (for a leavening agent) 4 cups each trust and faith, sifted together 1 bucket peace 5 qts. wonderment, unpasteurized 1 bushel each strength and courage, grated together 12 large ripe inspirations 5 stalks clarity 1 gal. willingness 8 cups grace, melted 10 cups humor, coarsely chopped tons of Self-Love |
Begin by gently blending together the following: compassion, patience, serenity, forgiveness, creativity, and joy. Set aside for 15 minutes while the joy warms up the mixture and it begins to rise.
Mix together gratitude, wonderment, spontaneity/enthusiasm, strength/courage, and wisdom. Set aside.
Slice the ripe inspirations into "coins" and blend them into the gratitude mixture. Chop the stalks of clarity into small pieces and mix them in as well. Add all of this to the original joy mixture, which has now risen. Your batter will be stiff and thick. (Just the way I like my men; how about you?)
To this, add the willingness, stirring well. The mixture should become smooth and creamy as you now blend in the grace.
Sprinkle the humor throughout the entire confection.
Add the tons of Self-Love and bring it all into the Serene Center Of Your Being Within Your Heart to "bake" in the warmth of your Being. Soak it up into your entirety. Allow it to penetrate deeply into each cell, saturating your completely.
You, then, dear ones, are the sponges who will soak up these qualities and then ooze them out throughout your life. Partake thoroughly of them. Indulge in them and satiate yourselves.
What does this all have to do with the sponges in the vast oceans? I thought you'd never ask ... without every single droplet of water, the ocean would not be all that it is. Without every single amazing creature within them, they would be incomplete. Just like God would not be complete without each and every uniquely distinct individual person. Together, we all make God - and it does take each and every one of us! Remember this as you savor this wondrous confection.
