Recipe #5

Angel's Food Cake

Recipe of the Month - by The Answer Lady, Oh My God

Hello again to all of my kitchen kin. Yes, it's Answer Lady, Oh My God! with yet another delectable offering to please even the most refined tastes. In fact, I went all the way to the top for this one, folks. The Reeeley Big Mashugga called me up to the pearly gates after tasting my recipe for Devil's Food Cake. Yes, I got a private seating with God. (Isn't that just to die for?) I had to agree with Her, equal time is only fair. Anyway, a huge, holy host of angels were in attendance. Together we all came up with this heavenly concoction for the month … Angel's Food Cake.

This is real ascension food, I'll tell ya, kids. To begin our creation, you'll need the following ingredients:

6 large Golden Goose eggs
3 cups mother's milk
2 cubes creamy, white chocolate
3 Tbsp dew drops from rose petals
1½ cups prayers, diced
4 cups pure Love, finely sifted
¼ lb. babies' smiles
1 dozen sweet sentiments, peeled
1 3-oz. can each of dreams and fantasies
1 pt. ambrosia, smooth, creamy style
a pinch of grace

Heat your oven to 350 degrees.

We begin by separating the egg whites from their lavender yolks. Whip the whites until they stand up like perky angel breasts. Set aside.

In a large mixing bowl, gently beat the yolks and add in 3 cups of mother's milk. Fold in gently the dreams and fantasies.

Melt the white chocolate in a small sauce pan. It should be the consistency of thick syrup or honey. Add this to your mixture. (By the way, this is a wonderful "body paint" to use on your lover … Do try this at home. Be sure to let it cool down somewhat before spreading.)

Next sift in the pure Love and a pinch of grace. Gently blend this mixture together. (Note: Singing hymns while you make this creation helps considerably. I've never had a cake "fall" yet. I'm so blessed!)

Add the dewdrops and swirl them throughout.

Next, fold in the diced prayers.

Gently stir in the babies' smiles to sweeten the mix.

Squeeze the sweet sentiments (they should be pulpy) and marble them into the mixture.

Now, lightly grease a cake pan. Pour this entire concoction into a high, towering cake pan. If you have one of my specialty baking pans from my very own Catalogue of Culinary Wares, I suggest the "Spiral Stairway" tube pan. If you don't (and Heaven knows you should get with the program), use whatever you have that is close to cone shaped. (Note: You can begin receiving my catalogue as soon as you request it at ALOMG.com. It is free. You're only required to order 1 item monthly to stay in my good graces.)

Bake your Angel's Food Cake for 45 minutes. The outside should be lightly bronzed. Insert a toothpick into the top and when it comes out clean you can be sure the cake is cooked in the middle. The cake should spring back at the touch.

Let it cool for 20 minutes while you briskly whisk the ambrosia into a soft, fluffy texture. With flair, frost your beautiful cake tower with the ambrosia.

Now, invite your closest, dearest, most loving friends over and enjoy this celestial celebration. You will levitate from this luscious delight. When you care enough to ascend the very best, make my infamous Angel's Food Cake!

Next month, sweeties, we will be creating The Whole Enchilada. I'll let your taste buds salivate over that one for awhile as you wait in great anticipation. Until then, I remain your gourmet glutton,
